A guide to effective eye contour care

Table des matières

Eye contour care is an essential part of your beauty routine. This delicate area around the eyes requires special attention and the use of appropriate products. If you’re looking to reduce the appearance of dark circles, puffiness or fine lines, this article is for you. We’ll detail the steps involved in correctly applying an eye contour product to maximize its benefits.

Choosing the right eye contour product

To begin with, you need to choose the right product for your needs and skin type. There are several types of eye contour care:

  • Moisturizing creams: nourish the skin and prevent the appearance of fine lines caused by dehydration.
  • Anti-puffiness gels: decongest puffy eyes with their refreshing, draining effect.
  • Brightening serums: reduce the appearance of dark circles by improving blood microcirculation.
  • Anti-aging treatments: combat the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, while firming the skin.

It’s crucial to check the composition of products to ensure that they are free from parabens, colorants and artificial fragrances, which can be irritating or allergenic, especially if you have sensitive skin.

Prepare your skin before applying eye contour care

Make-up and impurities can interfere with the absorption of eye contour care. Before applying eye contour care, we recommend you :

  1. Gentlycleanse your face with a make-up remover suited to your skin type. Be sure to remove all make-up and residue from around the eyes.
  2. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water to remove traces of make-up remover and soothe the skin.
  3. Gentlydry your skin with a clean towel, without rubbing to avoid irritating the fine skin around the eyes.

Apply a soothing toner or lotion

If you wish, you can apply a toner or soothing lotion all over your face. These products remove the last traces of impurities, balance the skin’s pH and reduce redness. To do this, soak a cotton pad and gently wipe over your entire face, avoiding the eye area.

How to apply eye contour care effectively

Now that your face is clean and ready to receive the products, here are the steps to apply eye contour care properly:

1. Warm the product between your fingers

To facilitate penetration, we recommend warming a small amount of product between your fingers for a few seconds before application. This also reduces the risk of irritation caused by rubbing on the delicate skin around the eyes.

2. Apply the product gently around the eyes

Use the tip of your ring finger (the weaker finger) to apply small amounts of product around each eye. Be careful not to get too close to the lash line, to avoid irritation or accidental penetration into the eye.

3. Massage gently in a circular motion

Use your ring finger to make light circular movements, starting from the inner corner of the eye and working outwards, then moving slightly upwards towards the eyebrows and following the arch of the brow. These movements stimulate blood and lymph circulation, promoting product absorption.

4. Apply light pressure

After the circular massage, apply light pressure with the ring finger around the eye contour area. This helps to drain and tone subcutaneous tissues, while enhancing product penetration.

5. Leave the product on for a few minutes

It’s important to allow the product to absorb into the skin before applying other products, such as moisturizer or make-up. Wait a few minutes to allow the product to work deeply into the skin.

When to apply eye contour care?

Eye contour care can be applied in the morning and/or evening, depending on your needs and preferences. It’s generally recommended to use a lighter, refreshing treatment in the morning to give your eyes a rested look, then opt for an intensive treatment, such as an anti-aging serum or moisturizing cream, in the evening to repair and nourish the skin overnight.

By following these simple steps, you’ll maximize the benefits of your eye care and achieve a more youthful, rested and luminous appearance.
